چکیده

Nonlinear analysis of structural members is vital to understand the behavior and response reinforced concrete members. Even though most design procedures concentrate on ultimate stage towards end post-yielding zone as decisive criterion, usually function at service load levels within post-cracking zone. Therefore, cracking a critical aspect that affects overall beams. The initiation propagation cracks are affected directly by tension shear stresses in beam. In flexural beams, tensile dominate crack onset its growth. Cracks beams leave non-cracked regions between cracked sections. order apply consistent strategy, smeared approach averages these different sections uncracked generate an accurate global entire This study presents numerical constitutive model captures complete member, terms averaged/smeared response. As second step, this was examined against large pool experimental data validate accuracy. Overall, main objective develop representative for accuracy results. full nonlinear sectional analytically realized, based assumed trilinear moment–curvature moment–extreme fiber compressive strain considered secondary outcome present study.

A Macro-model for Nonlinear Analysis of 3D Reinforced Concrete Shear Walls

Architectural limitations in many situations make it necessary for the RC shear walls to be extended in plan in different directions at a single location that makes them a 3D configuration. Analysis of such walls is very challenging. In this research about 450 cases of 3D shear walls are considered with different shapes and heights. L, T and H-shape walls are studied. They are nonlinearly analy...

Nonlinear Models of Reinforced and Post-tensioned Concrete Beams

Commercial finite element software generally includes dedicated numerical models for the nonlinear response of concrete under loading. These models usually include a smeared crack analogy to account for the relatively poor tensile strength of concrete, a plasticity algorithm to facilitate concrete crushing in compression regions and a method of specifying the amount, the distribution and the or...

Nonlinear Damping Identification in Precast Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Beams

This article presents a damage detection method for prestressed reinforced concrete (PRC) elements based on free vibration tests and nonlinear damping identification. Integrated static and dynamic experiments were carried out on three precast PRC beam specimens. The static loading induced different levels of damage to the beams. At each damage level, impulsive loading was applied to the beams a...

A fiber-reinforced Transversely Isotropic Constitutive Model for Liver Tissue

Biomechanical properties of soft tissue, such as liver, are important in modeling computer aided surgical procedures. Experimental evidences show that liver tissue is transversely isotropic. In this article, considering the liver tissue as an incompressible fiber-reinforced composite with one family of fibers, an exponential strain energy function (SEF) is proposed. The proposed SEF is based on...
